Understanding alerts and taking action

Analyzing Nexus Reports within the Galvix platform involves understanding alerts and taking actions to ensure compliance. Here's a guide on how to navigate alerts and resolve them effectively.

Familiarize yourself with different alert types and their descriptions:

  • Warning Alerts: Highlight potential issues that may impact compliance but do not pose an immediate threat.

  • Critical Errors: Indicate urgent matters requiring immediate attention to avoid compliance risks.

Nexus Reports present alerts to draw your attention to specific areas that require consideration or action:

  • Approaching Nexus Thresholds: Galvix alerts you when your business is nearing nexus thresholds in specific jurisdictions.

If approaching nexus thresholds, it is advised to initiate the registration process in relevant jurisdictions. Once registered, update your tax settings in Galvix to mark that jurisdiction as registered.

  • Nexus exposed: Galvix alerts you when your business has established nexus in a specific jurisdiction either by meeting sales and/or transaction thresholds or by establishing a new physical presence.

If nexus is exposed, register with the sales tax authority of that jurisdiction. Once registered, update your tax settings in Galvix to mark that jurisdiction as registered.

  • Missing Registration: Alerts if your business is collecting sales tax in a state where you are not registered for sales tax in Galvix.

If alerted about transacting in a state where you are not registered in Galvix, promptly update your tax settings to ensure accurate compliance records.

  • Physical Presence Unmapped: Alerts when employee departments lack mapping, affecting the determination of nexus.

Resolve alerts related to physical presence mapping by mapping presence type/departments accurately. This ensures precise determination of establishing nexus.
